Today Runners League X-Country QE Park - 13 November 2011

I was not intending to be behind the camera for this event, but actually out running for a change. Unfortunately after injuring my knee a few weeks earlier  I could not risk it for this one. Hopefully I will be match fit for the next one.

The last few times I have taken photos at this race it has been overcast and raining. This year it was a beautiful autumn's day  with a strong sun, so this meant that the place's I normally lurk was not suitable as I would be shooting directly in the sun. So I had to quickly scout around for new locations. Unfortunately the first place I chose was not ideal, as several of the shoots suffer from flare from the sun, the effect was magnified by a small imperfection on the filter used to protect the len's.  I have included the images, as if you are in part of the image unaffected you can always crop the image to remove the affected area.   My second location was about half a mile from the finish, before you started the "interesting" descent through the wooded path.
