Fuller's Purbrook Ladies 5

As the day progressed the fog began to lift turning the conditions from very pleasant running conditions to a bit warm and humid. It was a little disappointing to see number's down this year, if you have enjoyed the race please tell your friends and relatives and get them to do the run next year. It is an ideal first timers event as it is not as intimidating as the normal mixed races.  I will be spreading the word amongst the runners at work.

I noticed that many of you made the wise choice to take water with you on the run, using the small runner's bottles. Personally I have always found them to be a bit of a pain. I have tried a camelbak type system before, but found drinking through the tube a bit off putting as the water tends to taste a bit plasticie - and you can never be sure how much water is left, so you tend to ration yourself. The system that works best for me, is the hydration belts by Nathan Sports. The one I use for most run's in the summer is the Nathan Trail Mix - this contains 2x300ml bottles, a pocket (can carry a phone + trail snacks etc) and a shock cord so you can carry a light weight jacket or gloves for those not so warm and wet days. Inside the pocket it has a waterproof emergency contact card and a clip for keys to keep them safe. Next time you get re-shod (get new shoes) have a look at the belts.

I was at 2 location, The first about a 400m from the start. Click here to see the photos First Location Photos.

The second location was about 400m from the finish (in the dip). Click here to see the photos Second Location Photos
